چکیده

This paper introduces a new probabilistic framework for Space Carving [9]. In this framework each voxel is assigned a probability, which is computed by comparing the likelihoods for the voxel existing and not existing. This new framework avoids many of the difficulties associated with the original Space Carving algorithm. Specifically, it does not need a global threshold parameter, and it guarantees that no holes will be carved in the model. This paper also proposes that a voxel-based thick texture is a realistic and efficient representation for scenes which contain dominant planes. The algorithm is tested using both real and synthetic data, and both qualitative and quantitative results are presented.

A COMMON FRAMEWORK FOR LATTICE-VALUED, PROBABILISTIC AND APPROACH UNIFORM (CONVERGENCE) SPACES

We develop a general framework for various lattice-valued, probabilistic and approach uniform convergence spaces. To this end, we use the concept of $s$-stratified $LM$-filter, where $L$ and $M$ are suitable frames. A stratified $LMN$-uniform convergence tower is then a family of structures indexed by a quantale $N$. For different choices of $L,M$ and $N$ we obtain the lattice-valued, probabili...

Interpolating Novel Views from Image Sequences by Probabilistic Depth Carving

We describe a novel approach to view interpolation from image sequences based on probabilistic depth carving. This builds a multivalued representation of depth for novel views consisting of likelihoods of depth samples corresponding to either opaque or free space points. The likelihoods are obtained from iterative probabilistic combination of local disparity estimates about a subset of referenc...

Dense 3-D Structure from Image Sequences Using Probabilistic Depth Carving

We describe an algorithm to determine dense 3-D structure in a static scene from an image sequence captured by a moving camera. Metric camera motions are first determined using a recursive structure from motion algorithm based on tracked feature points. Dense depth information for a subset of key frames is then obtained using a novel probabilistic depth carving algorithm analogous to space carv...

A Surface Evolution Approach o Probabilistic Space Carving

We present a 3D photography method that generates a texture-mapped three-dimensional model of a scene computed from multi-view calibrated two-dimensional photographs. Our approach first performs probabilistic space carving, which results in a 3D grid of voxel probabilities that describe the likelihood of a voxel existing in the model. We then employ a three-dimensional geodesic active surface t...
